Quick step by step Instructions

1. Unplug the Unit.

Before you begin to clean the unit, unplug it from the power outlet. Place any items that will disturb the cleaning in a cooler with ice.

2. Clean with soft sponge and detergent.

Use a soft clean sponge or cloth and mild detergent to clean the refrigerator. Do not use steel wool or any types of abrasive cleaners. For stainless steel exteriors, use commercial stainless steel cleaner and ensure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

3. Remove detachable parts.

Pull out all removable parts such as shelves and bins. Allow them to warm up to room temperature before you start to clean them. If they are directly exposed to warm or hot water in the fridge (especially when cold), they could crack or break from thermal shock

4. Clean the door gasket.

The door gaskets should be cleaned regularly to ensure that the doors make a tight seal. Some french door models have additional gaskets in the door

Allow the baking soda to completely dissolve into the mixture to prevent scratching the surface of the refrigerator.

7. Clean the back coil

The last part that may need maintenance is to clean the back coils, however LG recommends this to be done by a professional to avoid personal injury. For assistance, please refer to Request a Repair page.
